  • Do you have psoriasis?
  • Would you be interested in taking part in a research study?

University of Hull investigators  Dr Henning Holle (Principal Investigator), Dr Fiona Cowdell (Co-Investigator), Mrs Samantha Swithenbank (Research Assistant) are carrying out an online research study called: Auditory modulation of itch in people with psoriasis: an online study.

Their aim is to develop new treatments for psoriatic itch, and this study will allow them to find out more about whether their approach is helpful.

In the study you (as a participant) will be asked to listen to a number of scratching and rubbing sounds on your computer (using headphones, if possible). You will then rate how itchy you feel while listening to these sounds.

Although there are many therapies for itch, few are effective in reducing psoriatic itch. There is a need to develop new approaches to relieve this unpleasant condition.

This study will take approximately 1 hour and can be completed in sections.

If accepted into the trial participants will receive an Amazon voucher as a token of appreciation for taking part.

If you have psoriasis, are over 18 years of age and would like to take part, please contact:

PLEASE NOTE: Recruitment for this trial is now closed.

The Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Alliance is funding this study.
